Beeps on incoming and outgoing calls

Hi everyone,

I have an Avaya system and I am now having a few issues - firstly I am receiving random beeps on incoming and outgoing calls. These don't happen on every call but are very frequent. Secondly, I have now started experiencing another issue where I will be talking to a caller and then I'll hear a beep followed by an automated voice saying "transfer, the number you are trying to transfer to is not available" then the call will either drop or I will be back talking to the caller.

I have an IP 500 version 8.0 (44) and my lines are on a VOE system - would anyone have any idea and be able to help me please?

I have also gone into System - Telephony - Tones & Music and unticked beep on listen - this didn't get rid of the issues.

I would check in system status and see if an extension is attempting to answer/transfer the call when you get that automated voice message.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Beeps could be a call waiting tone from your provider.

All sounds like a service provider issue.
