I have a user that claims that whenever she picks up her outside line, either to make a or recieve a call, there are four short beeps on the line before she connects. I haven't been able to recreate the problem, but she claims to still be experiencing it.

She is using a headset on an M2616 phone. I've asked her to change out the batteries in the headset, and the headset itself to eliminate that as a potential problem. Any other places I should look?

Is she sure the batteries she put in are good? Plantronics amplifiers beep when the batteries are too low on voltage.

some (newer) plantronic headsets, give a beep to indicate an incoming call.. i just found that out on a wireless cs-50 with the manual handset lifting device.. if the user is in the other room and can not tell which phone is ringing.. the wireless headset beeps... user wanted it to not beep if she was at her desk...plantronic help desk said no way.. either on or off

Did you try recreating the trouble from her telephone set? Perhaps she's hearing expensive route warning tone, which is notifying her that she's grabbing an expensive route on which to dial out. It's a long shot, but that could be it...although she wouldn't hear it on inbound calls...

I did try to recreate this from her phone. She definately doesn't get the tones when using the speakerphone. I'm 99% sure it's the headset. She's traveling at the moment, but I'll have her swap it out when she returns.

Never have end-users swap out anything! (This includes line cords and handset cords too!) If you want it done right.... and all that.
