beep on conf calls

is there a way to get rid of the beep sound when someone is connected to a conf call?

no, its there to stop people trying to silently sneak into calls unannounced. You either have it when people enter/leave the conference or during the call. Toggle it using the System | Telephony | Conference Tones setting.
