Beep every 10 sec

Hi

Bit of a wierd one

Every 10 or so sec's there a beep that comes on the line , the phone type is a 500 ( Standard analogue set ) , there is no headset but is recorded on racal recorders but these recorders dont have the facility to send beeps

Any idea's

Not sure of the course of this, but I'm sure there / used to be / is a requirement under uk law to beep every now and again if the call is being monitored or recorded if a message is not announced before hand, so someone may of hard coded it into the system.
Not much help I guess, but it is Friday.
