Hello Everyone,

Here's the situation. We have a backup that runs from our main server and does a backup of all of the other servers in the room. We call it the XServer backup. For the last couple of weeks however it has been failing when backing up one particular server.

The server is being used to store the IDR ISOs and i'm finding that 9 times out of 10 it fails when backing up in that directory. When it doesn't fail in that directory it fails in different places on the C drive.

BE loses the network connection to the remote agent on the machine and fails the entire job.

So my questions are the following:

1 - When does the IDR information for each server being backed up get written to the speficied location?

2 - Should BE be backing up the IDR directory while, if it does write continuously, at the same time writing to it?

3 - Is there a way to find out if it's failing when it's writing the IDR information, or just generally backing up the servers C drive?

If anyone has any advice on this it would be greatly appreciated. I've exhausted everything I can think of.
Checked event logs, network probe software for unusual network traffic, set network settings in BE to do the large port ranges, moved the server around in the backup list order.

Look forward to any advice.
Thank you in advance,

Scott
