I'm presently using Backup Exec Version 8.6 on a Windows NT 4.0 Server.

I'm running two backup jobs on Monday using three DLT tapes:
Job #1: A Partitial Full Backup. (Set to overwrite)
Job #2 runs after Job #1 has completed: A Differential Full Backup. (Set to Append, Terminate Job if No Appendable Media is Available)

Lately Job #2 has been failing and when I look at the Job Log it reads:

No Appendable media could be mounted.
Error - Mount Failed.
^^^^^
Physical Volume Library Media not found.

I run a quick erase of the three tapes before the Monday job is run. I've read in some of the thread's that a possible cause could be that tape has been filled up with data, but, I don't know why that would be happening here if the quick erase is being performed.

Any solution or suggestions to the above mentioned message?

I've had trouble with quick erase not actually erasing anything. Don't know why. You can see how much tape has been used by going to the "Media" tab and doubleclicking the tape you're using, then select 'statistics'.
