I have been tasked with upgrading the hardware our BE10.1 server is running on.

I have been trying to look for this and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction...

Does Backup Exec make use of dual processors? Just wondering if it would be a waste to run this on a dual processor DL380 server.

Any info along these lines would be great! Thanks in advance!

I'd consider that overkill if it's the only process on the server. You're obviously doing remote backups, remember that your media server can only process what the network hands to it. Doesn't take a lot of processor to keep up with a 1Gb serial feed. One of my media servers is a dell GX-270 desktop (2.8 Ghz single proc, IDE HD), it keeps up with my Gb network with no problems.

Of course, if you have multiple feeds or direct SCSI access to an array you will need more horsepower, but if it's a single ethernet feed you don't need a lot.
