Hi all,

BE is supposed to make these *.dr files after it completes a backup, where * is the server name. This is where it puts the IDR files. It seems to be making them for the other servers for the most part except for our Exchange server and cluster server. I'm more concerned about the Exchange server right now. The Agent is running on it, I'm getting a good Info Store and Mailbox backup, but it's not creating the .dr files. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Shellac,

What version of Backup Exec are you running and on which OS?

As far as I know, the only way that the DR files are created is if certain criteria are followed. First make sure that the IDR option is installed, then make sure that when you run the backups that they are full backups. using exceptions or running partial backups do not work for this. A .dr file should be created whenever anything is selected for backup from the root of the backup selection list such as System State or drive C:.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

-J
