don't be affraid of creating dozens of layers and naming them, it is very helpful for large projects. For instance, if you're drawing a car, have a group called "front tires" that has the layers r"right tire" and "left tire" and then another folder called bumper...doors...etc
Why ?
sometimes you want to treat a group of objects as one object.. or on the other hand, want , on rollover for example, change a tiny detail in your drawing..
enjoy being oragnized, believe me, it pays ...
