I have a new customer who tells me their tape drive used to backup files on a second server in their office. I cannot figure out how they had this working OR if it really worked that way. Backup Exec 9.0 does not show the network drive nor under Windows Network does it show that server. When I tried to force it under Advanced to go to the second server for backup, it says the feature is not installed. Any ideas on this?

Is there a way I can go back to the Native backup? Right now, Backup Exec has control over the drive and I cannot use the Native or the Backup Exec.

Basically, I need to be able to backup 2 large folders on a second Windows 2003 server from a Windows 2003 server with a Benchmark DLT1 tape drive.

Thank you!

First, the remote server must have a Backup Exec Remote Agent. Check in Services (on the remote server) that it is there and it is running.

To regain control of the drive you will have to stop the Backup Exec services on the server the drive is hooked to.
