Newbie question #2 for tonight.

Running Backup Exec 8.6 on a W2k Server (SP4). Would like to backup data on another server within same domain.

1. Do I need to install BE on the other server?
2. Is there a special remote agent (other than what's included on the install disks) that I need to install to make this happen? (Hoping the answer is no!)

Any tips and suggestions appreciated!

You only need to install the remote agent if you want to backup files or folders which are not shared. You also cannot backup the remote system state without it. So if you are backing up a few files or folders which are already shared then there is no real need for the remote agent.

Hope this helps

Thanks, ross. One more question, please.

When I try to make my selection on the other server, the checkbox next to it is grayed out. Any advice there?
