BE 8.5 Fails...Cannot locate problem--Suggestions?

Over the last week my backup has been failing and I cannot find out what the problem is. I have looked for ^^^^^ symbols because usually when it fails it is because of corrupt email in someone's Inbox in Exchange 5.5. However for the last week it has been failing and I have gone over every single line in the daily logs and cannot find a single error. Has anybody run into this problem and if so how did you resolve it? The backup says that it backed up 4.8 gigs of info, so I know the backup is running, it is the fail that is puzzling me.
 
When you get failed does it not give any info at all ???

i used to get that, have you tried backing up something simple and slowly increase the amount u backup, leave exchange out of the equation then introduce it? and see if it fails then, if so try backing up exchange on its own.

usually when this happend i found it was my tapedrive that was the fault or the servers scsi controller throwing a wobbler.

bit of a nasty 1 to be honest.

also try a new tape and clean the heads
 
A common problem we had with this was the BE drivers getting deleted/corrupted. After reinstalling the drivers everything worked. Check your log v-e-r-y carefully. See if it mentions something about not finding a driver and doing a standard backup.
