Hello
I am using Win2k Advanced, Backup Exec 8.0 build 3315, Compaq TL891, and 35/70 DLT LDRV.
The scheduled backups will run successfully for several days and then have a failure. The BE job lobfile will read: Storage Device "Compaq DLT reported an error on a request to write data to the media. Error Reported.."The device is not ready".

Manual backups never produce this error.
I have been told of possible SCSI issues. The TL891 ID is 1 and the DLT ID is 4. The tape library does not share the SCSI with anything.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated

I don't suppose you remember how this was resolved, do you? I'm running BE 7.3 on NT 4, but I'm getting that same intermittent "The device is not ready" error when I try to do anything on the drive, even a quick erase.
