BE 10d backups failing with Access Denied

I am getting a strange error that I have not seen before.
I am currently running BE 10d on several XP (SP2)workstations that are serving as small DB servers.

I am getting the following error msg on several of the servers:

Error: Could not start Pre Job Command < c:\XXXX.bat >. Error (5): Access is denied.

Error: Job "backupname" Daily Canceled.
-
Error: Could not start Post Job Command < c:\XXXX.bat >. Error (5): Access is denied.


Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?
