BCP failing when -e option used 1

BCP is failing with a GPF whenever we use the -e option to create an error file.  I searched Microsoft's knowledge base and this was acknowledged as a problem in 6.5, but no mention of a problem with 7.0.  However, we had no problems with bcp under 6.5, it only began when we upgraded to 7.0.  Sometimes we can use the bcp.exe from 6.5 (against a 7.0 database) and the problem goes away, sometimes it doesn't.  Is there something obvious we should be doing differently?
