BCP Error

hello all,

I'm getting a bcp error

"Expected the TEXT token in data stream for bulk copy of text or image data"

when importing data. Initially i thought it was something to do with the size of the data in the TEXT field but i'm beginning to doubt this.

I'm using the same fmt file for the import and export, the data in the file looks ok.

any suggestions?

Looking at the error message, it appears to be catching on a Text datatype. Text in SQL is a really huge datatype, whereas you can have a text datatype that is the equivlant of a char datatype in a Non-SQL file format type.

Go and verify all the datatypes that are being imported. And then verify you're converting them to the proper explicit or implicit data types.
