Hi all,
I have a BCN that lost it directory mount on telnet logon?? After about 10 mins I logged off and immediately back on to see that it mounted again. Here is the error I got when it didn't mount:

PATHNAME IS MISSING VOLUME ID; NO DEFAULT VOLUME ID DEFINED
CD [<VOL>:][<DIRECTORY>]
PATHNAME IS MISSING VOLUME ID; NO DEFAULT VOLUME ID DEFINED

Has anyone seen this?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

We have had several BCN operating a couple of years using release 15.4.0.1 but never experienced this mounting issue. Since this phenomenon doesn't affect your network, I would wait to see if this happens again. If so it could be wise to format the flashcard to see if there are any errors detected on the card. You could also try another (formatted) flash card to see if it still excists.

Another thing is to check the description made in the 'TI Prompt' whitin the 'telnet server global parameters' option (especially when this reoccurs). We've had the same message on our ARN's when the description is not correct or has too many characters. Maybe re-entering this description solves the problem.
