Hello,

My CCNA is going to expire this Summer and I would like to take the new BCMSN. I recently took the new course (3.0) and noticed QoS, IPT and Wireless were added. Anyone have an idea of how it's broken down on the exam?

I'm not looking for a brain dump or anything. Just some info regarding the new content. For now, I will continue with the Student Guide, Book, Instructor Notes and Labs.

I'm hoping there is quite a bit of Wireless (Autonomous and LWAPP), since that it where I have the most hands on knowledge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rgds,

John

The best place to find out what topics are on each exam is Cisco's site:

The last 3 chapters of the Cisco press book are on wireless with the last chapter devoted to Cisco Unified Wireless stuff (LWAPP, WLC, etc). However, the book is heavy on spanning-tree and multilayer switching in general, with some security related stuff as well.

Are the CatOS commands on the exam?

Also look up on CCO what the leds mean on a cardbus wireless adaptor. It's not in the textbook.

I'm guessing a PCMCIA Wireless Aironet card? It was in the BCMSN course I took.

I just took the BCMSN today and there were a lot of wireless and voice vlan questions (maybe 15+ out of 61). Know what the LEDs mean. Know the QoS settings on a switch. I am sure other people have had a different percentage. The sims were pretty simple.

I used the Cisco Press book and study guide/lab time from the bryant advantage. There was some material on the exam I didn't see in either study guide :/ so I had to make an educated guess on more than a few questions.

I got an 868 so I'm pretty happy I passed, but I feel like I could have done better had I known what to expect.
