Just passed CCNP switching with a 901. Pass mark was 776.
Dont want to say too much due to confidentiality agreement etc, but here are a few thoughts about the exam.
Only 56 questions, I was expecting about 75.
The exam is not simulator based and did not many questions where a command was required to be entered. Other people have posted that all of the 640-60x exams have simulations. This is incorrect and can be checked on the Cisco website at
In true Cisco fashion there were a couple of questions where I couldn't understand what they were asking.
I needed to know:-
Switch types - what should be used where, Are they Set or IOS base etc
VLANs, VTP, HSRP, MLS and a very little bit of Multicast.
