how in the world are you suposed to get each file down to 5 meg or less on this thing. a .wav file that the manuels say it requires, i can only get down to 80 meg or so and even if it would except an mp3 the closest i got on that is 5.5 meg. has anyone found the soulution to this dilema? please let me know. Thank you very much

I downloaded a free WAV converter program (don't remember the name, but I found it by doing a search on Google), and converted the MP3/WAV files to 8KHz mono - that got the file size where it needs to be. Figured it was going over a phone line anyway, and 8KHz mono sounds fine. It's a pain in the rear, and sometimes takes a bit of fiddling around to make it fit. I suppose if the file was too big, you could split it into two parts and not insert any silence between the files - worst someone would hear is a half second of silence.

I agree though - they should build in MP3 support or allow us to load bigger files.

My Boss cut our 25+ Meg file into 5 Meg files and they play withouit any problem.

Thank you all very much!! I will work with it and these comments and see what happens. Thanks again.

ok, everbody if someone needs to get there files down under that 5meg justlook on the web for the freeware version of switch sound format converter. its free!!! it also lets you choose almost any format to convert to. it also lets you choose how kb per second along with the frequency. it also has decent editor with some effects etc. i was very suprised to find it. i was able to get wav files down from 80meg to 2 and 3 meg. once on the system, through the phone, it still sounded pretty decent. thanks for the tips people. it is appreciated.
