Have there been any more patches for 3.6 since
BCM_360[1].130_CUMULATIVE.99.2???????

Yes, enough that they should have created cumulative 3, 4 and 5.

It would be nice to be able to get a list of all of them with a short discription, so I could download the ones I think I need.

PS to last post.

I don't want to upgrade to 3.7 because 3.7 has it's own problems. all 60 of my sites are on 3.6 with BCM_360[1].130_CUMULATIVE.99.2.

Maybe by then 3.7 will be stable or I may upgrade to 4.0.

Marshall,

I went to the website to check on patches for the 3.6. I don't see a cumulative 99.2 listed? Is it on there under another name? Are you supposed to do just the patches required that are fixing specific problems (like before)? Or, all of them? No immediate problems on my 3.6's out there.

99.2 is an old patch the patches I have listed are after that cumulative 2 patch.

Marshall

I am just in the process of putting some extended news with details of the patch.

So are you supposed to load all those patches? Someone else suggested that I should just install 3.7 and save having to do all the patches? What would you recommend?

Again this is a bit of a grey area.I know even after you upgrade to 3.7 there is still some patches to apply for 3.7. I know what people say upgrade to 3.7 to get rid of the problems All I would say is there is patches for problems like IPSEC etc which might not apply to you because you do not use IPSEC.The patches you apply might be different for each BCM. Have you got a problem that you are trying to resolve with an upgrade.

Marshall

Marshall,

I don't have any specific problems occuring on either of my 2 BCM's out there with 3.6 running. They seem to be quite stable. I currently have a 2.5 8 gig that I have to move to 3.6 or 3.7 my choice and I trying to decide where I should take it to so as to keep it stable. I am still looking for a 2.5 20 gig. image, virgin or not, so as to backup and restore the customer programming before doing the keycode upgrades to 3.0 and 3.6, 3.7? If there's some way I could get that image today it would be greatly appreciated. Any advice on which platform you feel is more stable is also very helpful.

The problem is 3.7 is pretty new. The 3.6 has been tried and tested for a while and plenty of patches to fix problems that are about.

But again it is going to be how long before 4.0 arrives and do you have to be at 3.7 to upgrade to 4.0.

Marshall

The upgrade to 4.0 will be supported from release 3.6 or 3.7. The cost is different (more) if upgrading from 3.6.

Ain't really cheap either.

Any idea what the price will be for 3.6 or 3.7 to 4.0

Hasn't been officially released yet. Word is middle "three digit price" for 3.7 to 4.0, and low "four digit price" for 3.6 to 4.0. Always subject to change.

I thought they were changing the platform for 4.0.

In which case wouldn't it be all new software? So would it matter?
