I have a BCM50e version 2.0. IP Phones link up with system, but have no talk paths.

In the SUA/NAT menu, I forwarded all ports (7000,20000-20255,28000-28255, etc.) that are neccessary to the 192.168.1.2 address, but with no luck... Any suggestions?

isn't the firewall in the router in the BCM50e doing NAT forwarding as well? Are you suggesting I put LAN1 on the public internet to bypass all the NAT?

Can you describe the setup at BOTH ends that you are trying to use? Also, what call type are you describing? IP set to IP set? IP set to TDM set or PSTN? Please be more descriptive.

The bcm50e is attached to a business DSL with 5 public wan ip addresses... The router's lan begins at 192.168.1.1, and the BCM begins at 192.168.1.2.

The type of calls is intercom between IP to digital sets, digital to IP sets, trunk calls to IP, and vice versa. Basically one way speech path.

The remote site is also a business DSL modem with 5 public WAN addresses. This site can connect to a different BCM 400 switch and have no problems.

Double check that your Codecs and packet size are the same for IP sets and for VoIP trunks.

packet MTU size is 1500 (default) and the codecs are set to default or auto.

The packet size I'm talking about will be 30 or 40, and it's under your IP telephone settings and on your VoIP trunk settings. If different you will have speech path problems.

Sorry, I did not see packet size, but I did see payload size in ms. Is that what you were referring to? That is the only thing I see in those two screens. By default its 30 for G.711, G.729, G.723.

Are the IP sets public and registered to the 50 or where are they located?

The IP sets are remote and on the public internet... locally they work fine... remotely, they work fine connected to another BCM switch (that is directly on the public network with NAT.) but remotely connected to the BCM50e with SUA/NAT done... I get no way speech path...

I could just put LAN1 on the public internet... but would that not defeat the purpose of the router that is built in the BCM50e?

So you are not using VPN then. This will be an exercise in futility for you.....(not to rekindle the old debate on this forum).

Yea unfortunately... I guess LAN1 on the Public network is gonna have to do.
