BCM50e 6.0 IP address keeps changing

Has anyone had this issue before? I have a bcm50e the IP address keeps defaulting back to 192.168.1.1 then it interferes with network router and switches and causes all of the network devices PCs, etc. to lock up. the only remedy is to disconnect the BCM 50 from the network but then it is not available for access.

It sounds like you have the BCM50's eth1 adapter configured to use DHCP. Change its configuration to Static and assign it an IP address that is outside of the range managed by the network DHCP server. Also, as you have a network router that provides DHCP services on your LAN, make sure that the DHCP server on the BCM50's integrated router is disabled.
