I have this serious issue with BCM50 6.0 voicemail using Network messaging.

When a user call to Site A BCM and dials a extension# for a user at site B it transfers over fine. But when the user call site A and access the company directory listing by pressing " and spell the name of the user at site B, it recognize the user, by playing his name, but doesn't transfer to the extension. " the extension number entered is in correct."
Following are Current setting details:

Network Site Properties:
Site Name: Alpha
Site Prefix: 3
Spoken Name: Recorded
Site Type:
Digital (VPIM)
IP Address: 165.203.125.47
Mailbox Prefix: 3

Network (Site) Mailbox 3300
Last Name: User
First Name: Hello
Display In Directory: yes
Spoken Name: Recorded
Site Prefix: 3
Remote mailbox: 3300

please Help

Been a while since I looked at VPIM. You have quoted your VPIM configuration. VPIM is designed to send a message using SMTP from one mailbox to another mailbox on a different BCM. Both need to use IP address or by hostname; not one by IP address and one by host name. You need to address the send to somewhere, either site based or direct addressing.

I don't see how VPIM is relevant to the corporate directory in terms of addressing it somewhere to send.

Refer to CallPilot Message Networking User Guide for addressing.

I'm not sure the exact log name, however you could try (where x.xx.xx.xx is IP of BCM):

However the logs are password protected if you pull a complete set.

Hope this helps.

To clarify, when I say "I don't see how VPIM is relevant to the corporate directory in terms of addressing it somewhere to send." it might be better if you read this as "I don't see that VPIM was designed to use the corporate directory, only adress the to address to a direct or site based destination".

In terms of the underlying send, it uses SMTP to 4000@10.10.10.1 for example where 4000 it the mailbox and 10.10.10.1 is the destination BCM.

Hope this helps!

I have host name assigned and did tried with both with host name and IP address. I did went through the CP Messaging Networking user guide, but it doesn't talk about directory listing.

Its relevent because, it's pointing Site A to Site B using prefix. and all mailboxes are re-created as Network Site mail box. it suppose to Digitally network both sites and It is point it to correct FQDN.

Need help here .. please provide some solutions.

I don't think VPIM was every designed to work with a directory, only to go to a specific mailbox. I think Avaya will probably tell you the same thing.
