BCM50 upgrade

I have a BCM50, Rls 2. They but the 6.0 upgrade. So I was sent an upgrade kit, with the 2.0+3.0 to 6.0 keycode and the software. THEN, I was sent a 5.0 to 6.0 upgrade kit with keycode and software. Why? Can you not go from 3.0 to 6.0?

All you need is the "2.0+3.0 to 6.0 keycode and the software" if you currently have a Rls 2.
