BCM50 Upgrade

I have a R1 that I am going to upgrade to a R3. Is it just a matter of obtaning a keycode and applying it? Anyone know about how long the process takes? Thanks!

Keycode and upgrade disks. U'll also need to download the R3 factory image upgrade patch from the Nortel site. This will keep your BCM at R# if u do a level 2 reset. Anticipate 2hrs for the upgrade, about an hr loading the current R3 patches, and about an hr to load the R3 factory image upgrade patch.

All in all plan for at least 4hrs plus prep time (generating keycode, etc).

Thanks Dasheen - I have the keycode. Where do I get the disks or are they downloaded from Nortel?

U should've got the upgrade disks w/ the keycode. U should've ordered a BCM50 R1 to R3 upgrade kit.

Also don't forget to change the bcm's name before attempting the upgrade otherwise you could be in trouble.
