Hi everyone,

I am considering possible problems when upgrading BCM50 from rls1 to rls2 over a VPN connection.
Can this be done remotely over VPN?

The BCM50 is configured to be the VPN router.
That is why I need to know what settings are going to be lost.

In the second stage of upgrade the system will not be accessible until it finishes and reboots automatically.

Does upgrading remove settings other then scheduled tasks?

Rgds,

I'd try to do it on site so u can see what the LEDs are doing through out the upgrade. Also if it goes badly, ur there to do a level 2 reset.

You can use remote desktop to a PC which is local to your BCM, and upgrade BCM from it. We did couple of upgrades via VPN and remote desktop, went well. We had no single failure during upgrades of our 20 BCMs customer, I think it is OK to do it remotely just not directly VPN connect to BCM.

Just like others saying, best way is connect your PC directly to BCM, safer.

Always learn from someone, something and somewhere......

Hi all,

I wonder if any of you has an experience in setting a lock on digital terminal (T7316E) in a BCM400 infrastructure. I want to lock one specific extension (DN) for all outgoing calls during weekends and after work hours. I tried with Line/Set restrictions but it didn't worked out. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can someone please assist me on this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Ivo
