Hi,
I have two different locations which are connected through a DSL network. In each sites I have new BCM50 Systems. I would like to establish site to site dialing. People on each side should able to call other end using extension numbers instead of using PSTN analog trunk, this is what i want to get done.

Please help me, what steps i shold complete to get it done?
I hav already purchased the IP trunk keycode for each side. Rest of this, What steps should i go through?

I appreciate any input.

DBrewsky,
Extension numbers are different in each side. One site using 1xx and the other site starts 2xx. (both are three digits, but different figures)

Dasheen,
We dont have any IP Sets yet. All are T7100 Digital sets, Is that you mean?

Thanks and waiting for your further update.

What happens now?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

1. put all your VOIP lines in a pool "c"
2. program private recieved digits for each set and assign to set.
3. program a route "002" to use pool "c"
4.create a destination code "8" for example to use route "002" and delte 1 digit.
5. under "recources", telephoney recources ,IP trunks
create a destination. NAME, IPADDRESS, CSE protocal
6. give all sets access to pool "c"
7. dial away "voice quality of DSL ?

It's called CDP

Thanks for all the comments. May I know which part of nortel documentation describes these steps? I am using the BCM Rel. 2.0 version.

56BelAir,
Thanks for the step by step. Is that all to be done?

Thanks again

Thats it in a nut shell. You may need the MCDN keycode to pass caller ID and other features, but I have heard it still will pass calls without.

56BelAir, Thanks for the comments. Would u please suggest me a documentation to read and understand more on the steps you provided?

For IP trunk setup as mentioned above, should i use Specific IP phones or can I use the existing T7100 digital phones?

Hi, with all your help I could set it up finally, but i cannot say its perfect. The following issues found, someone push me further?!
- From Site A, I dial Site B extension followed by the access code, For example 5 and 200 (5200). But only one extension I can talk to. When i dial 5201 or other it displays "Call cleared 21". What does it mean? What i missed to do?

- HOw much bandwidth will use for a call normally? How can i fine tune with less bandwidth consumption without much compromising the voice quality?

Thanks for any hints

sound like you mean you dial the access code followed by extention.

I believe you may have not programmed the target lines for each extention with private recieved digits.(step 2) in above post. this needs to be done for each site.

codec
711.Best voice quality-most bandwith usage
729.good quality -lower bandwith usage.

Did you assign a target line "ring only" to each set DN?

If you do not assign target lines, you'll only be able to directly dial the control set.

Sorry for the long delay to respond. If you dont mind gentlemen, guide me how and where to configure the target line for each set for VoIP in BEM? This is the point i left in this voip trunk configuration and could not figure out how to work with target lines.

Thanks again for your help

A Target Line is a virtual line that you build the Recvd. Digits for. On a BCM 50, they start at Line 125. Enter your ext. #, in Private Recvd. Then apply that Line 125 to your DN, as Ring Only.

Adversity is Opportunity

Just to add to Deweyhumbolt post enter the ext.# in Private received if you have the MCDN keycode,If not put the ext.# in Public Received.
