Hey guys I need your help. We've been trying to network a BCM50 and a Norstar MICS. Calls go through between the two switches. Our problem is that when we dial to the MICS we have to wait for 6-7 seconds before we get a dial tone and then we dial the extension number. What we wanted to do is to just dial XXXX (ext number) then ring the ext at the MICS. We don't want to wait for 6 secs for a dial tone then dial the extension. Please anyone help us with programming.

I'll assume you're using the MICS VOIP gateway.

My first guess would be that your route on the BCM 50 that's pointing to the MICS/IP trunks is configured as public, not private, and you're hitting the dialing timeout. Check the route and let us know.

Yes we're using MICS VOIP gateway. My route is set to private (DN Type) and my absorbed lenght is 0.
