-replaced Hard Drive
-re-entered key codes

Inbound ok but no outbound, getting a busy after digit 9 plus 10 digits phone number.

Protocols:
Fractional 8 channels - 1st 8 channels enabled only in provisioning.

Lines are Block-B

Type - PRI
NI-2
Descending
Clock - Primary External
ESF
B8ZS
Internal CSU - yes
Carrier (Allstream) is matched on above

Routing:
Built route 001 to use Block-B
Dest code 9 - use route 001

Am I missing something???

As weird as this may seem, I've had that issue before and for some reason, changing from descending to ascending and back again cleared it. Don't ask me why but it worked!

You might want to leave it at ascending once you get the issue sorted out though. Carrier should be descending so they come in on B1 and you should be ascending so you select B8 first outgoing. That's the way we set them and they always seem to work fine.

Good Luck with it.

Carrier states we were calling out on 23rd channel yet we de provisioned bottom 12.

Carrier is Ascending, we we are Descending.

We changed to Ascending and can dial out now, however this is not correct so we cannot leave it that way for long, back to full business soon....luckily only few users right now.

I believe we still need to disable some ports as well but not sure where yet....maybe under DNs?.

Thanks

Under the Resources tab, you should have check marks on the first 12 channels only (I'm sure you already know that) and to confirm, uner Lines>Active Physical Lines, it should only display those 12 (along with your analog trunks). Other than that there are no other parameters that affect them.

The only other thing is, those settings are the way to set it up for NI-1. Seeing that yours is NI-2, you might have to look at the call-by-call info. I do recall having to reboot the pos to effect those changes too, and if memory serves me right, it was only on release 1.0 systems.

You don't need to disable ports you need to disable the b channels that are not being used for voice. Aside from deprovisioning you must disable the b's not being used cause the system will keep trying to grab that line 023. Give that a try and let me know what you get.

That's what I said........under the Resources tab. Curly has been around the BCM long enough to know where to look in there.

Thanks dudes.

Yes first 8 channels checked under provisioning.

However I am not clear on where to navigate to disable the B channels.

I just don't recall doing such a thing on Norstar and wonder if it is the same for future ref.

Cheers

Under Resources>Telephony Resources, select your PRI. In the lower screen select the Provision Lines tab. In there you will see all 23 B channels listed. Just leave the first 12 (or however many b channels you need active) and uncheck the rest.

You don't need to disable anything. Unchecking those boxes is all you have to do. Under Lines>Active Physical Lines you should now only see the line numbers of the b channels you left provisioned. If not, you might have to reboot the system. Release 1.0 was a bit odd in relation to PRIs.

To refresh it seems I have done everything correctly before posting, yesterday I had unchecked the last 15 channels in provisioning leaving 8 channels checked.
Active Physical Lines shows lines 95 to 102 only which is correct at 8 lines.

When we tested with carrier it still grabbed channel 23 on their monitor but it grabbed line 102 on BCM monitor.

Inbound ok coming in on line 95 first.

Carrier is Allstream but through Bell Canada in the end.

While we had tester on the line we provisioned channel 23 and a call went out fine.
It was then we were stumped why they see one thing and we see another, De-provisioned 23 and changed to Ascending as a quick fix.
