Guys .
I have had a bcm50 rel1 system causing the phones that are programmed to ring just continually ring...
Some off the phones are flashing while others are ok..

I suggested to the customer they will need to reboot the system.
This was done via the M7316e phone using f9*8 and system restart..

Normally this would only take about 10 to 15 minutes to restore.

The strange thing is it took about 1 and a half hours to 2 hours before services came back up.

Any idea as to why it would take this long.

I assumed it was trying to reboot and could not get there and eventually restored its self from its backup..

I have seen this happening before but rarely comes back.
Usually a new hard drive is needed.

any ideas as to why it takes so long.

i'd go with a bad hdd as well, no harm in re-imaging another drive restoring the patches, backup & LIC file and swapping it out....before it dies

i have had to replace 6 or more and they have all been Release 1

Yes i have replaced a lot of release 1 system hard drives lately myself.

Because this one came back up again , grant you it took a long time
i was just wondering what the issue was.
