I have a BCM 50 with a new Multi Image Hard Drive in it that I am trying to get to R6.

When I get to the root menu "QUICK CONFIGURATION" and press option 1 for "Install and Activate a BCM SW Release" it only give me the option for R1 and R2.

If I go into the Advanced Menu (Option 2) and select "Initialize a SW Release for a different system" the bcm50 R6 shows up.

When I select option 8 for BCM50 R6 it tells me, "BCM50 R6 has already been initialized for quick install"

Not sure where/what to do here... any help would be great!

So what release was it at before the upgrade attempt?

The system must have either been a release 2 or release 1.

If it was upgraded it may not have been finialised with the rel 6 disk image which is the final step on the upgrade.

Therefore the system still thinks it's an earlier release.

You may have to reimaged it first R1,R2 then install your key codes that contains the upgrade code .

Then perform the upgrade to release 6.

Can you post us the system site ID which is the MAC address underneath the BCM unit or better still, the one on the Motherboard.

We might be able to answer the question for you,
