Hi -

I'm new to the BCM and was wondering if it is possible to configure the unit to require a PIN code "after" a long distance number has been entered (local and toll free calls should not require a PIN). I am trying to do this for one line that is assigned to a kitchen phone (T7100) in a restaurant. I'm trying to prevent unauthorized long distance calls from that phone.

The only thing I've found so far is to setup a local access code that must be entered "before" ANY calls (LD and local) can be made. I checked with AT&T (LD provider) and they don't offer anything that will "block" LD calls so I'm hoping this can be accomplished in the BCM.

TIA,
Faja -

Yes. Check programming guide for COS (Class of Service).

Thanks Dasheen! I've setup CoS on the line and was able to get what I needed done.

Do you know of a way to get the password prompt AFTER entering the phone number with say a stutter dial tone? I've used other systems (Avaya and Inter-Tel I think) that work this way. I'm going to have a hard time getting the kitchen staff used to pushing F68 and then a CoS password. Maybe I can reprogam the single button on the phone (T7100) to F68 instead of last number.

From the looks of the manual, I suspect my setup request is not going to be an option but I thought I would ask anyway.

Can't have stutter dial tone after unless you ask your Telco to restrict the lines and build up Long distance codes at their end.
