Hello,
I have a BCM50 R2 that has been in good working order for as long as I can remember. I woke up today to check my voicemail, but upon entering F981, the screen goes blank, and stays blank until the call is released. Upon checking service manager within Element Manager, the "voicemail" service is stopped. If I enable the service, it remains enabled until I try dialing voicemail again, upon doing so, the service stops itself again. Restoring a backup of the system was of no help. Any suggestions?

Hello LidLock

The Callpilot runs off the hard drive, which might be failing.

Don't forget you can also look at the Alarms list for any evidence.

Also, in case the backup is corrupted you can try to restore and select from the drop down "From Factory Default"
Then see if it runs before getting into heavy re-programming.

Otherwise try to image the current drive then do a restore from a backup again.

No...
I forgot to mention, when you start do a Restore from Factory Default you get the bunch of choices with check boxes, uncheck all of them except for Callpilot Configuration and Callpilot Messages (optional).
Then when you do a restore from your own backup do the same thing with the choices.
