I have everything configured where I can dial out of the Norstar to the BCM through the Gateway. However, I am unable to dial from the BCM50 into the Gateway to the Norstar. I have target lines setup. I have read and read the docs and have no idea where I am going wrong. I know it is something simple. Any ideas? I know that I don't have much info about my settings but if you need to know just ask and I'll fill you in.

The obvious things are, need a VoIP trunk enabled, in a pool, access to that pool from telephone calling from. Need dest. code for ext. #'s of Norstar built along with Gateway dest. codes and correct IP of Norstar. Target line built on Norstar to match internal ext. #'s.

Use BCM Monitor to watch digits dialed. Now you can provide what's done or not done.

Deweyhumbolt, I have all of that in there.
norstarboy, I can see in BCM Monitor that it dials the number but then after a second or two it disconnects. When I monitor the channels on the Gateway they never are accessed. I have triple checked my IP for the Remote Gateway in the BCM and it is correct.

I always start at the most obvious, so forgive me. Can you use the BCM50 ping utility to hit the VoIP Gateway on the Norstar?

Yes, I can ping the Gateway from the BCM.

Are you sure your not absorbing your dest. code? I'm guessing you've got 4 digit exts. at the Norstar.

I can call from site B to site A but can't call from site A to site B. Here is what I have:

To call site A, site B dials 51XXXX. This works. Routing is setup on the Norstar for 51A to use the VOIP trunks and to absorb 2.
To call site B, site A dials 52XXX. Site B has 3 digit extensions. Routing is setup on the BCM50 for 52A to use the VOIP trunks and to absorb 2.
Using BCM Monitor and calling from the BCM50 I can see that I am absorbing the 52 and sending XXX. In the Norstar I have target lines programmed with received digits matching their extension numbers.
When I monitor the Gateway channels as I am making a call from the BCM50, I can't see any of the channels being accessed and the call will not complete and it disconnects.

I found that channel 4 is not working from the Norstar. It is always the easy things that get you!

Wow! Did you just luckily try 2 calls at one time?

No, I really feel sort of stupid for this, but earlier I had found that I had a bad port when trying to call the BCM from the Norstar. It was port 4. I took that line out of the pool so I wouldn't access it. So when I tried to call from the BCM to the Norstar it was trying to come through on port 4 because I had it set for Descending. All of a sudden I had this feeling. Then the thought came to me. A bright light bulb was above my head and whala that was the issue. Hours of torment only to find out that some part of my brain already knew the problem it just didn't inform the other parts until later.

I applaud your honesty, it's happened to all of us.
