greetings.

from inside of element manager, if i do a backup, is that information all that i would need to restore a system if it were set to factory defaults?

the tar file i end up with is only about 8 meg (when i do not select to also save callpilot voicemail messages). is that all of the programming for all lines/extensions/hunt groups/dhcp/ip settings/etc?

--
if that is all i need, what is the difference with the option from the top menus in element manager ("save programming record" or some such?). supposedly that saves as either an excel file or a html file and supposedly takes up to multiple hours.

The excel file gives you a Printed version of how you set the system up. names ,lines , button programming ,routing etc
It does not include voice mail settings,

You need to go to callpilot reports to get this information.
