We have a BCM50 r2 with three VOIP sets connected through a Netgear Router with Cox as the data provider. Cox has issued a Static address through thier modem and the Computer vendor set up a NAT through the Netgear sending the Static address to the Netgear as 192.168.1.150 that connects to the BCM 50. All phones connect but thety cannot hear incoming or outgoing. They have allowed port 7000 thourgh the router and 28000 to 28255 and 20000 to 20255. Anyone know if the problem is the router or the BCM.

No public media address available for ip set at 192.168.1.180:51000

This is the error we get whenever a IP set connects to the BCM.

This is a NAT problem most likely.

You should not be provisioning IP sets in that way on R2. YOu should use VPN only.

If you upgrade to R6 you can use the remote worker feature which is what you are trying to do.

ECartman can you tell me more about the remote worker application

You don't have all of the required ports open.

Signaling between the IP telephones and the Business Communications Manager uses Business Communications Manager port 7000. However, voice packets are exchanged using the default RTP ports 28000 through 28255 at the Business Communications Manager, and ports 51000 through 51200 at the IP telephones. If these ports are blocked by the firewall or NAT, you will experience one-way or no-way speech paths.

HTH!
