BCM50 MODEM

I understand the BCM50 has a soft modem and has to be turned on. I also understand this is a very slow interface for admin but have no network connection available. What is the procedure for setting this modem up so u can dial it up remote with a DID or POTS trunk?

If pots line cross wire to a free copper trunk port. If its DID pick a free target line. Then in the modem setting assign modem to answer that line.
