how do i setup the internal modem to answer on a BCM50:
-system has 4 pots using auto attendant to answer all calls
-using internal analog dn and entered as modem dn

Enable the modem in element manager if you haven't already. Create a dialup networking connection. Enter XXX-XXX-XXXX,,,,,,DN of modem. Use nnadmin and whatever your password is for the username/password in the DUN connection. You might need to adjust the number of commas depending on the number of rings before the AA answers. Each comma is a 3 second pause, I think.

Run a cable off the 25 pair cable analog port and connect to the RJ11 modem port

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

There is no modem port on a BCM 50. It's run internally off DSPs. Modem ports only exist on BCM 200/400/1000 systems.
