I've got a perplexing problem on a BCM50 with built-in CallPilot VM (no UM). A T7208 set on one port has the message-waiting lamp lit.

User cleared out all messages, but the lamp stays lit.

Changed phones - lamp stays lit. Left new message, and cleared it out - lamp stays lit.

Unplugged phone for several minutes, re-booted the BCM50, deleted the mailbox and rebuilt - but the lamp stays lit through it all.

The only odd thing we know of is that the user seems to have enabled remote notification for a while, then cancelled it, but that was before we tried all of the above.

Any ideas, anyone? Is there a feature key or command that allows an administrator to toggle the MW lamp on another set?

Have you tried to clear any "sent messages" to the set? Try feature 65 (or feature #65, don't remember which), then press the Hold key. See if that clears it. It's possible someone did a Feature 1 (send message) to that set, but I can't imagine that would survive a reboot on a BCM 50.

That did the trick. And, yes, the message did survive a reboot.

Thanks much.
