BCM50 mailboxes not working. Am I missing anything?

I have boot up my new BCM 50. The parameters are still default. Not major changes at all.

I have VM 16 seat active. I tried to create mailboxes for subscriber A. His extention number is, say, 222, and his mailbox number is 222. Everything there were just default.

It is just not working. Am I missing anything? I am stuck here.

Has the user initialised his mailbox?

Did you set the call fwd. to the Voicemail pilot number?Check using feature 985.

Got new question, sorry for lacking of knowledge.

Very phone when I press feature #985, it will display VM 363. However, I can not set everything extention with 363.

363 is the pilot number for voicemail.
when setting up individual voicemail, initialise the user by pressing feature 981, it will prompt for the mail box number. this will be the extn number.

you would uses 363 if you wished to forward the user phone to voicemail (eg; feature 4 followed by 363)

I would think:
No.1 is to add a mailbox
No.2 is to intilize the mailbox
No.3 is to forward the extension to a mailbox

I can have No.1 and No.2 done with ease. However, when I set forward 228 (say, my extension) to voicemail 228, it gives me an error.

How do I forward extension 228 to voicemail 228?

You press F985 to obtain CallPilot extension number.
In your case this is extension 363.
When you set up call forward no answer for each extension you call forward no answer to extension 363.
The CallPilot will see to it that the voicemail is left in the correct mailbox.

You only forward to 363 if they have a Vmail box.
