Forgive me if this was answered elsewhere... I looked and looked. I'm unfamiliar to Nortel but figuring it out a little at a time. I moved some extensions around in the Element Manager a few days ago and everything worked as planned. I later downloaded the element manager to another PC and suddenly the stations all went blank. I called a friend and he told me to reboot the system and the station expansion manual. That fixed the problem, but the last changes I made (along with other recent changes made by another person) were lost. Sets that had been swapped were reverted to their previous configuration. I cleaned everything up in short order but now I'm wondering if there's a "save" feature that I missed. I also feel I should back everything up and I think I see it in the Element Manager under "Session -> ip_address> -> save programming record. Is this where I make a backup of the system? Will is also get the license files? Thanks!

No..
Backup is in backup restore.
Admin-backup.

The bcm is a live system so changes are immediate.
After a reboot the changes should still be there.

Just do a backup to the bcm hard drive.

Snowman50,

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not seeing a backup option, which is making me think the logon the client provided does not have the necessary permissions. Assuming you're referring to the BCM Element Manager, is it under the configuration tab or the administration tab? I've looked everywhere. Also, if a system does lose its configuration changes on reboot, what's the likely cause? I used the Administration -> Utilities -> Reset -> Reboot BCM50 command. The documentation seemed to indicate that I would not lose any changes. Thanks!

Backup and Restore is in Administration right below Utilities
nnadmin is the highest account
Unless somebody created another of equal then demoted nnadmin

Depending on the version it could need a patch to fix the issue.
