HELP !!!! I just opened up case with Nortel..

We had an issue where we loaded the .62 dialoger patch (do not load this one.. it will cause other patches to not load nor will you be able to delete patches)

Well... I had this same problem with a diff customer.. I did a level 2 reset then a restore just fine..

Today.. I have the exact same issue..did a level 2 reset then tried the restore.. looks like it will go then it pops up with an error that saya "Rules deleted" then you can only hot ok....

ANY IDEAS?

mkimmer ...i'm staring a similar problem ...except i cant even login to the system ...

Dont know if the customer loaded this patch ...will keep an eye on that.
Let us know how it goes with NT support

Is there a way to do a factory default without logging in?
I've got to do some serious reading

the BCM50 goes from - Solid Ylw, Solid Ylw to Solid Red, Solid Red and then Blinking Red, Blinking Red

Pressing the recessed reset button, doesnt make any changes ...left it for about an hr ...still flashing RED

There is a small hole in the front of the 50 just like the 400 were you can reset the unit. But you need the Docs because you have to press it a couple of times it depends on the light pattern. Here you can do a level 1 or 2 reset.

thanks cook1082 - the installation guide is what i'm following
(i'm not able to logon)
The system doesnt follow the lamp sequence given there
This is what happens:
1. power on
2. Solid Ylw, Solid Ylw (about 1/2 minute)
3. Solid Red, Solid Red (about a minute)
4. Blinking Red, Blinking Red

I never get the flashing yellow ...like in a normal system
Once it starts flashing red, i press the reset button just after 5 seconds - but nothing happens after that

Sorry about that sounds like your screwed. If not to old should be under warranty.

thats not hte half of it ...this happend after the customer entered a whole bunch of keycodes ...so really screwed

welll the .62 dialoger patch really screw up things for me... I did a backup before I did the level 2 reset... and Nortel tells me its hardware failure... well I got now... my backup was corrupted... it was telling me in the alarm codes.... so that patch really screws your world up... I found an old backup and it loaded just fine without that error

well... Nortel advised it was a bad bcm 50... but after looking further it was a corrupt backup file. When I got the system back to the office, I restored from and older backup and it went just fine. So Nortel isnt always right... They sent out a new system and we replaced it...but then I played with the so called bad one.... I sent it back to nortel anyways.
