Hello,

We have a BCM50 with 5 lines (with 6 Meridian M7310 telephones) - one of which is a fax line so 4 lines accessible for voice calls - connected to an external VPN router. I am able to log into the BCM via the VPN from off site. However, when I log in via the Avaya I2050 software from my laptop and assign myself an unused DN, the software says "No Ports Left".

I logged into the BCM Monitor and under IP Devices / IP Set Details, the window is grey. On the lefthand column under IP Clients, it says "Used Licenses: N/A".

When I log into the BCM50 via the Business Element, under Configuration -> Resources -> Telephony Resources -> IP and Application Sets -> IP Terminal Details, I can see my VPN assigned local IP address, the DN I assigned myself (224), Device Type (2050_p2), etc.

What are the steps I need to take to enable this software to make calls through the phone system via my laptop? Is there any more information you need from my end in order to solve this issue?

EDIT: I received the same message (Server: No Ports Left) on both version 2 and the latest version of the IP Softphone software.

Thank you for your time.

Do you have enough licenses?

Count IP clients vs IPsets/Softphones

Just to be exactly sure, where do I count the IP Clients and the IP Sets/Softphones to determine this?
I am the only user logged in / who has access to the system as an IP client.

Under Resources -> Application Resources I see: IP Sets - Minimum 0, Maximum MAX, License 0, System Max 32

Close
Resources/TelephonyResources/Internal-IPsets/IP Terminal Details at bottom but wait for it to populate maybe within 30 secs.
This is where you would de-register unused IP sets to keep system clean or make room for one.

Licenses are under System/Licenses or System/Keycodes look for IP Client

Thanks again for the reply.

There is only one IP Set listed (my own). Under System/Keycode, I see IDLE IP Client Try-Buy 0, IDLE SRVBL IP Client 0.

Does this tell us anything?

Ok, that is good to know. How would I go about obtaining a license for a piece of hardware that is over 10 years old?

And how much does a license typically cost?

Emailed you at the address on your personal site.
