Guy's I have added IP set's to BCM50 or 450 with no problems but this one is giving me fits I'm trying install an Avaya 1230 IP set but I can't get it to Register tried every thing , it act's like is going to connect and then give's the old server unreachable we have I2002 sets and 2004 set already on this system . oh yea it is RLS 1.00.2.04.j we just added more License for IP set so I'm stummped .

Nortel 1230 IP phones didn't exist at the time when BCM50 R1 was released. The set type reported by 1230 is not recognized by the R1 software. Also, R1 doesn't have firmware for 1100 and 1200 series phones. Avaya ships new 1230 phones with just a bootloader (no real firmware) - the call server is supposed to upload firmware to the phone when it gets connected for the first time.

From a quick peek at BCM50 R2 and R3, I can see that the firmware for 1230 phones was added in BCM50 R3. That means you'll need at least BCM50 R3 to get the 1230 phone working.

Well that would explain it , Thanks for the reply's
