BCM50 IP addressing

How do i assign an internal and external IP address to a BCM50 with no router.

If no external ip addressing can be assigned can i do port forwarding

I'm assuming you mean private and public addresses - without a router it cannot be done -
you may have another router connected to the public network, and serve as a gateway for the bcm

And the gateway router can also direct traffic to the bcm

Look under Configuration ---> System ---> IP Subsystem. There you can configure an ip address so you can access the system on your network.

ok let me clarify my question- How many ip addresses can be assigned to aBCM50?

This is what i have so far:
1 private address
1 router
1 firewall with the following ports opened:
-5000
-7000
-20000 - 20255
-28000 - 28255


1 public ip address

i can register a softphone fine outside of the site. but when i connect a ip phone the phone gets to the "Firmware download" and gets stuck in a reboot cycle

any ideas?

I believe Firmware downloads run through TFTP ports. Open those on your firewall.

One IP on a plain BCM 50. Connect the ethernet port next to the OAM port to the customer network once u've assign the IP address.

ok forced the firmware download via ftp and got the phone to register, now im getting one way speech path:
- callers hear me i cant hear them.
-i get no dial tone but getting button sounds when dialing.

currently the remote end firewall is opened for all ports. Am i missing any ports on the local end?

after reading thru the forum as i explained to the customer that NAT has issues. enough time spent on this.
