Hello, got a customer with a bcm50 version 3 that I need to change the ip address on.
When I login to element manager and click ip subsystem, the only tab that appears is 'dial out static routes'. The general settings tab is not there.
I looked in the alarm log in an effort to identify the trouble and see an alarm indicating that the release 3 factory image is not installed.
I also looked in the software updates history and see that only steps 1 and 2 of a version 1 to version 3 upgrade were completed on this system. The Windows client software portion of the upgrade was not completed.
Can anyone shine some light on why I can't get to the general settings and internal subnet tabs on this bcm?

Thanks in advance, Lanny

The first question is if you are logging in under a account with full admin rights such as nnadmin etc?.

Normally for a BCM, you would need to log in via EM and select the "configuration" tab, then "System" and in my case for a BCM 2.0, look for the IP Subsystem tab. The LAN 1 IP settings are found under the General box and the OAM is located next to it in the Internal Subnets box.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Thanks firebird, I'm logging in using nnadmin and the password. I actually changed the ip address on this same system a couple of years ago. Now when I click ip subsystem, the general settings and internal subnets tabs appear for a split second then disappear. The only tab left is dial out static routes. I read in a previous post that EM version or java issues could be the culprit.

Good idea exsmogger. If I can't get something working in a day or two I'll change it through the telset interface. I really need to get this straightened out though.

By the way, when entering a new ip address through the telset interface, do you use the star key to insert a "dot"?

I remember running into that bug in version 3. No amount of fiddling with element manager or java helped. Had to use the other methods of programming these settings.

I have a similar EM bug in version 6 now with a SIP voip trunk configuration that is up and running but does not show up in element manager. Not sure what to do if I need to reconfigure that one, might be a big pain some day.
