We have a BCM400 at our main office. In one of our satellite offices we have a BCM50. I would like to forward on no answer to the BCM400 via an ip trunk.

On the BCM400 I have set target Line 337 with a priv Received# as 1240. I have set the AA on the BCM400 to answer line 337 after 0 rings.

On the BCM50 I have DN 6203 set the FNA to 1240.

Instead of getting the CCR tree set to line 337 on the BCM400, I get the General Delivery Mailbox.

Looking the BCM monitor, I see that the BCM50 does dial 1240 and the BCM400 answers on the IP trunk, but it is routed to the General Delivery Mailbox instead of the CCR tree that is setup on line 337.

I am pretty sure that I had this set up at one time, but did not backup the settings and the BCM50 had to be replaced.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am not sure how to route it through the IP trunk as public. I did set the public Rec# to a DID on the BCM400 and call the number directly. It did go to the CCR tree.

Yes I have a MCDN code on both BCM50 and BCM400.

On the BCM50:
Create a new route to use the IP trunks on the BCM50 and set the type to public.
Change the des code you are using to route 1240 to use the newly created route.

On the BCM400:
Add 1240 to the public received number field on target line 337.

Tried that and still get the General Delivery Mailbox. Any other ideas?

If you don't have the MCDN license, you can't use the private received digits fiels in the target lines, you must use the public field. That's why you're getteing the GD mailbox. It appears to the BCM that there is no match on the target line.

He does have MCDN.
The target line is answering the call, the VM is answering the target line, but instead of playing a company greeting, it is trying to associate it to a mailbox, which it doesn't find, so it drops into the GDM.

What do you mean by "Try matching the recvd# on the target line to the VM DN"?

A little more information.

The BCM50 does not have a voice mail system. The DN's are 6200-6205.

The BCM400 does have the voice mail system. It's DN is 1418. The phone sets are 1200-1231.

We can direct dial any extension on both systems. When they go between systems, it is through the IP Trunk.

There is a MCDN license on both systems.

Any other ideas?

Another update.

From the BCM50 system, if I dial 1240, the AA picks up the line and CCR works correctly.

If it I let it ring so FNA picks up on 6203, it goes to General Delivery.

Ah ...
That's a good clue.
Are you by any chance using the BCM400 as the central voicemail, or did you change any of the settings on the Properties page?

What I meant by matching the VM dn was ... instead of forwarding to 1240, forward to 1418, the VM DN on the 400.
But, if you are using the 400 as a central mail system, it may not work.
It sounds like right now it is recognizing the the call is coming from DN 6203, which it appears you do not have a mailbox configured for at this time. AA is answering the call, but thinks it should deliver the call to 6203's mailbox. Since 6203 doesn't have a mailbox, the only place left to drop the call is the GDM.
Are you sure the call is coming across as public?
You can use the the UIP tab in BCM Monitor to watch the call setup. It should be tagged as public.
