BCM50 flashing red lights

Trying to repair a very unhappy bcm50 -

2 solid-orange led on powerup changes to 2 solid-red led, then the fan slows and the leds flash simultaneous red. The phones do the regular flashing on boot, but don't come up ( obviously ).

This is probably toast, but any ideas on a rescue? Thanks!!

Open the box and reseat the SATA cable on the hard drive.

Thanks DW, but not that lucky. Reseated the cable, and even continuity tested it - no joy. Found another - no joy.

You can hear the hard disk spool up, but it doesn't seem to access.

Bad board? Drive? Both?

Mostlikely some issue with the hard drive. You could try running a level 2 reset.

1)power system up
2)Status light yellow, power light flashing yellow, press reset.
3)Status flashing yellow, power solid red, press reset.
4)status flashing red, power solid red, wait 5 secords.
5)status flashing red, power flashing red, press reset.
6)status solid red, power solid red, wait for completion.

This will reset the system to original state, no database, no patches, no keycodes, just a new system. If that does not work, or the lights do not restond as indicated, I would recommend trying to replace the hard drive.
