Does anyone know if I can use an 100Base-T to Fibre tranciever and extend an expansion module to another building? I would use a dedicated fibre pair for this.

Thks

Not 100% sure but you might be able to depending on attenuation and latency. According to the NTPs the maximum length for the CAT-5E cable is 10m; so there's probably a timing threshold that needs to be met.

I believe that the expansion cable has to be a certain length.

This is true with the BCM400 expansion cabinet, the DS256 (exactly 5m) cable supplied with the system must be used. However, the BCM50 expansion cabinets require a CAT-5E (with a max length of 10m).
